Ben Mackall, CSW

Ben's introduction to the wine world began at an early age, with covert sips of fine Bordeaux administered by his father during dinner. Passion for the wine world did not start until later in life after moving to Bozeman from Colorado, when he honed his knowledge over 6 years thanks to the diligent education of various mentors in the hospitality industry, particularly Spanish Peaks Mountain Club.

He has also worked as a for-hire wine educator, part-time restaurant consultant, and as the sommelier at Summit Hotel (Big Sky Resort). Ben was hired by Frank Kern upon his purchase of The Hungry Moose to take charge of our famous wine selection, originally curated by founder of The Moose, Mark Robin.

Ben currently holds a Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW) certification from the Society of Wine Educators and is a level 1 Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers. He is currently working on obtaining further training to become a Certified Wine Educator (CWE). 

When not nerding out on new wines and trends in the industry, Ben is an avid fly fisherman (ask him for the local info along with your next bottle of wine), rock climber, gardener, and home cook, and has called the Mountain West home for 14 years.
